The National March for Palestine

The National March for Palestine

Lincoln Park, the house of honor for the greatest United States president to ever exist, Abraham Lincoln. Such a landmark of valuable significance symbolizes Lincoln’s sole beliefs of freedom and dignity for every existing entity.

Do those claimed beliefs to be honored by Lincoln apply to the struggling people of Palestine?

Lincoln’s era revolved around equality and solidarity, which was implemented in the national march for Palestine. Thousands of brave individuals from various religions, backgrounds, and statuses stood up for the hypocrisy of the United States. Who overlooked their political morals regarding the murdering of innocent Palestinian children, women, men, and elderly in cold blood and their displacement out of their homes by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF).

Israel has committed countless war crimes which were overlooked by the world. The apartheid has successfully leveled Gaza, arrested innocent children, murdered children in cold blood, and many more. The protest shed light on these crimes committed by the Israeli occupation.

As witnessed on this day, speeches were given regarding the evil caused by the power of the Israeli apartheid by social activists such as Imam Omar Suliman. “To the river to the sea, Palestine will always be free!” Chants such as were cheered by protestors calling for the freedom of Palestine.

Many countering the Palestinian movements claim “the old will die and the young will forget.” On the other hand, as seen on the march, the future youth of America and the world have risen and proved their solidarity, support, and strong belief in humanity.

The Israeli force can murder as much as they want, but they can not take away the strong voices of the youth. The world has let down Palestine, yet hope still remains.
